On Wednesday 6th November the children from Swifts and Owls visited Norton Manor Camp, home of the Royal Marines 40 Commando unit, to lay a wreath in the memorial garden.  Two Royal Marines kindly stopped the traffic on the busy A358, Taunton to Minehead road, to ensure we could cross the road safely.  All the children and staff wore bright yellow high ‘vis’ jackets and were very excited about this special outing.

Russell Fralick, the Padre together with Russ welcomed us to the camp and the children laid a wreath made of hand prints.  Following the laying of the wreath we were all treated to tea and cakes!

This trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children and staff.  The children were all happy on the trip, asked lots of questions and were very well mannered.

We would like to say a special thank you to the Royal Marines catering staff for taking special care to bake dairy free cakes for the children suffering from allergies.
